*thanks for these perspectives Brian. The first story shocked me more than the second. I hear news of injustices and have heard of the Innocence Project before. The first story revealed to me that saying something so hateful could be commonplace in some cultures. It was a glimpse into a deeply ingrained racist society that I was ignorant about. I am happy it was the beginning of a life long friendship for the people involved.
