Sometimes I read a quote that stops me in my tracks.

I copy the ones that touch my heart into a treasured notebook. When I need support, I visit these quotes. It’s like a little book of encouraging words. When I revisit them, I always love it when they reveal a new meaning.

Books are like that sometimes. They’ve always been my best friends. Poetry and quotes that resonate make me feel a bit more connected to the world.

I love how words look on the page and how they feel when we speak them out loud.

When I was a kid, our family would go to the library once a week. Our library was in an old building in the middle of town, with paneled walls and plank floors. It was a quiet space, where I could find a book and hide in the corner, turning pages while my brothers played with blocks. Best of all it smelled like books.

To stand in such a space, breathing the air shared by so many authors was my idea of church

One of my dream vacations is to tour the great libraries in the world. I’ve been known to bring copies of my favorite books of poetry to libraries around the world and leave them in the stacks. I…
