This article was created as one of an ongoing series where a group of writers (The Crew) coin words that should be in the dictionary. It’s a lot of fun and we’d love you to join us.

These useful new words are part of a challenge where we create words that should exist and give them a definition. I invite you to play along — tag me in your article when you do.

Workless

When you’re procrastinating, wasting time and not getting any work done because you’re on TikTok or watching endless depressing news. A combination of work and worthless.

I felt ‘workless’ for the entire morning. I’m stuck in a state of ‘worklessness’.

Sadxious

When your sadness is making you feel anxious. Sadxiously — the act of walking around when feeling sad and anxious at the same time.

Sadxiously, she turned off the news’.
